The ELSA team is over the moon with the shortlist announcement for the Australian Financial Review (AFR) higher education awards.
In a year with a record number of submissions for the awards, Early Learning STEM Australia has been chosen alongside three other projects in the Education Technology category.
The team was shortlisted based on the outcomes of our 2019 ELSA Pilot.
ELSA in 2019
During 2019, children participated in over 185,000 sessions, totalling 21,000 hours of engagement. Also, 121,000 items of user-generated content (UGC) were created and then incorporated into future app play—demonstrating children’s high levels of agency with the ELSA technology.
To better understand how educational technology supported learning, the ELSA team developed learning progressions to monitor children’s STEM understandings. Results revealed continuous learning attainment throughout the year—irrespective of individual differences.
